Believe it or not, a war is brewing between those who have different views on punctuation. There are those who say that there should be one space at the end of a sentence and those who say that there should be two.
Honestly, it is a matter of style but most style guides recommend only one.
According to page eighty-five of Grammar Girl’s Quick and Dirty Tips for Better Writing states: many older people learned to write on a typewriter and the style needed two spaces. Since a majority of people do not use a typewriter anymore, font designers have made adjustments to spacing, and leaving two spaces causes additional white space in sentences – it is recommended to use only one space.
